Podium PC

In the center of the worktop of the podium, you’ll find a touch screen of the Podium PC. This PC connected to the web to give you rapid access to all the services available from the university (Office 365, BBoard, Learning One, Collaborate).

Powering on

Podium PC turns on when the podium does, functioning as the main audio / video source for the Touch Panel.

Note: If the touch monitor doesn’t activate automatically, in the top right corner near the slot you’ll find an ON button. When the five icons light up on the right side of the screen, the monitor is properly powered on.

Navigating

You can interface with the touch monitor in three different ways:

  1. The Pen - La Pen is in the slot in the upper part of the screen or in the drawer, where you’ll also find the mouse, the keyboard and the slide pointer. When you turn on the Podium, the pen automatically activates too.

  2. Your fingers

  3. The mouse and the keyboard

Sharing and uploading files:

You can share and upload files via the web, or download files directly from One Drive or BBoard, for example.

Another option is to use a memory stick. Insert it into the port panel on the right.

Note: If you are unable to log into Bboard, just access your browser history and delete the latest searches.

Useful Software

The Podium PC offers two writing software programs.

Software Pen

The Software Pen is a digital whiteboard, a good alternative to traditional whiteboards if you need to share notes and diagrams with participants at the end of the lesson.

To turn on the pen, click on the icon in the tool bar. Select the stroke width, color and shape that you prefer. Start drawing using the Pen of the touch monitor.

You can open more than one whiteboard at the same time.

Then click on the X in the lower right corner to save your notes in PDF format and share them with participants via email, or by uploading them directly on the university’s learning environments.

The Overlay Tool

The Overlay Tool, instead, creates photographs of the pages that are open on your desktop (for instance, websites, webpages, Excel sheets, videos and so on). Then you can draw directly on these screens to highlight relevant information, meaningful data or attention points.

To access this tool, click on the icon in the toolbar, where you can also select the stroke width you prefer.

Click on the X to save the screens in PDF format and share them with participants.

Change the language of the operating system

Do you need to use Word, Excel or other software in the Office Suite in English? From the Windows app bar, go to the lower right corner, click on the pre-set language IT and select ENG.
